In May 2024, I began what I thought would be just another experiment.
It was simple: integrate HLTH Code meal replacement shakes into my routine to see if they could improve my energy, satiety, and overall health.
Seven months later, what started as an experiment has become a permanent part of my life—and along the way, it turned into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
Recap: The First 100 Days
When I wrote about my first 100 days with HLTH Code, I focused on the measurable improvements I noticed almost immediately.
My energy increased. Hunger and cravings—once the hardest part of staying consistent—became practically nonexistent. The shakes’ combination of high protein, healthy fats, and low carbs delivered outstanding satiety.
For context, I started this experiment after years of fasting until early afternoon. The idea of having a morning meal initially felt counterintuitive, but I decided to give it a shot based on suggestions from others in the metabolic health community.
I began with one-and-a-half servings of HLTH Code shakes, eventually increasing to two full servings (54 grams of protein, 54 grams of fat, and just 8 grams of net carbs). The results were immediate and noticeable.
Highlights from those first 100 days included:
- A VO2 max increase from 40 to 45.
- Setting personal bests in strength, like 29 bodyweight dips and 12 pull-ups.
- Doubling my daily step count from 5,000 to over 10,000.
- Dramatically reducing late-night cravings.
At the time, I called it an experiment. I never imagined where it would lead.
How a Simple Article Led to a National TV Commercial
After publishing my first article, the team at HLTH Code reached out. They were intrigued by my results and asked if I’d be willing to share my experience in a testimonial. Of course, I agreed.
That testimonial turned into something even bigger. They asked me if I’d be open to having a film crew follow me through a “day in the life” to tell my story for a national television commercial. On November 18th, they arrived at my home in Dutchess County, NY, ready to capture my routine.
They filmed me running on the Dutchess Rail Trail, using stunning drone shots to showcase both the beauty of the area and the simplicity of my approach to fitness. At home, they captured me working out, preparing HLTH Code shakes, and sharing my journey—from discovering low-carb in January 2018 to the transformative benefits I’ve experienced ever since.
The resulting 60-second commercial aired on morning news programs nationwide. Since its debut, millions of people have seen it, and I’ve received messages from across the country from people saying they saw me on TV. It’s been a humbling and surreal experience.
But what’s most meaningful to me isn’t the commercial itself—it’s the opportunity it’s given me to connect with more people and share the bigger message:
Taking control of your health, fitness, and quality of life doesn’t require perfection. It requires curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to make adjustments as you go.
The Next 150 Days: From Experiment to Permanent Habit
Over the past 150 days, nothing drastically different has happened. And for me, that’s the best possible outcome.
The benefits I noticed early on—more energy, better satiety, reduced cravings, and convenience—have remained consistent. HLTH Code is no longer an experiment. It’s now a permanent part of my routine.
Why? Because it works.
- Energy: I’ve maintained steady energy throughout the day, which has made it easier to stay productive and focused.
- Satiety: Late-night cravings are a thing of the past. Starting my day with a nutrient-dense shake has kept me satisfied well into the afternoon.
- Convenience: A meal that takes less than five minutes to prepare and keeps me full for hours has been invaluable—especially during busy days.
What’s even more exciting is that this consistency has allowed me to maintain and even build on my progress. I’ve continued to push my fitness goals, and I’m currently preparing to add another half marathon to the calendar to stay motivated through the cold winter months.
A Bigger Message: Experimentation is Everything
While HLTH Code has been a game-changer for me, my story isn’t about convincing you to try it. I don’t make a penny if you buy HLTH Code. The real takeaway is this:
Your health is yours to optimize. Develop a hypothesis, experiment, observe the results, and make adjustments. Whether it’s your nutrition, fitness, or another area of your life, this approach—consistent experimentation—can lead to profound, lasting change.
For me, it’s been about more than just HLTH Code. This philosophy has shaped every aspect of my health and fitness journey since I started low-carb in 2018. It’s how I’ve lost 80 pounds, maintained that loss for years, and continued to find new ways to improve my quality of life.

As I approach the one-year mark of my HLTH Code journey, I plan to reassess and share another update. For now, this is more than an experiment—it’s a cornerstone of my daily routine.
